Why I started Teffasia

I'm 22. When I was 19, I lost €40,000 in one shipment.

I had built an online store from nothing — ads, orders, repeat customers, the whole thing running. Then I sent back a stock order worth €40,000. At customs, the shipment was seized. A fine on top. The paperwork had been rigged — by the freight forwarder, with the seller. On paper, everything looked clean.

I lost the stock, the store, and the cash. That week I learned the rule I built this company on:

Trust doesn't exclude control. An agent who doesn't show you the factory invoices works for the factory — not for you.

I didn't quit. I went to learn the machine from the inside: a year running operations for a Chinese logistics group in France — containers, customs, freight, the boring parts nobody watches. Two years in Australia running my own transport company. And since 2021, buying and sourcing from China for myself and for people around me.

In 2025 I moved to Yiwu — the city where most of what you see on Amazon is actually sourced. I came with my own funds and a small envelope from investors. I stay deliberately small: my team here has been on the ground for decades, and I want to know every factory, every report, every file personally.

Because I've paid for this education myself. I know the paperwork games, the trading companies posing as factories, the "passed" inspection reports for shipments that arrive broken. And I know what it costs when nobody on the ground is actually working for the buyer.

So here's Teffasia: one written fee. Supplier invoices in your inbox, unmarked. Inspection before your balance payment. And if goods fail, we stay and negotiate — that's included, not extra.

"La confiance n'exclut pas le contrôle."

Trust doesn't exclude control. It's on every report I sign.

If you import from China — or you've been burned trying — my inbox is open. First supplier verification is free for founding clients.
